7 days to die zombie drop bag chance1/31/2024 I think when people lament about the old loot bags they don't miss the loot bags themselves but rather the potential excitment of rolling the dice for loot with every loot bag. While very consistent and reliable this tends to be much less exciting and it's compulsion dies off quickly. The new yellow loot bags are pretty consistent, and this has actually moved them to a something closer to a constant schedule of rewards. This is the same sort of reward system gambling uses to be so addictive and it's the reward system that remains the most compelling for the longest. IE inconsistent and unpredictable rewards. The old "million loot bags" approach was alot of glut and maintenance, but it excelled at checking the tick boxes of a variable schedule of rewards. So this is as much about psychology as anything. Loot EXPLODES out of bosses and chests in borderlands, much like casino lights and sounds.and for similar reasons. A good example is in Borderlands if you see purple it catches your attention fast. I think the problem is the average player isn't going to know that there are even different kinds of loot bags and seeing different colored rarities gets people excited. Else we might as well colour code all loot containers for the same reason. It should require the player to loot them to find out, rather than somehow know there's good or bad loot inside. I do however personally prefer they all look the same, rather than have different colours. Also intended to scale loot rewards from zombies both by challenge and, indirectly in doing so, game stage :p. Intended to both give more variety of loot rewards, because yellow bags are too predictable and that makes them more boring for folks. Stronger zombies having a chance of the higher orange loot bag and being weighted more strongly towards yellow mid tier as their baseline. Weaker zombies being weighted towards the brown "common" loot bags dropping every now and then. Yup yup, that's why the loot bags in the suggestion are scaled to zombie tier :). Ie, loot that's to some degree more varied scaling with the challenge to get it :) However I do think we could use a bag that drops slightly more often without spamming us as well as some more rare bags to potentially get excited for the possibility of. I actually much prefer the lesser cleanup of A17 and alot of the changes to the item economy pretty much remove the need for most of the trash drops anyways. Screamer hordes: Limited to only dropping yellow loot bags to prevent excessive screamer farming. For example a brown lootbag may become a yellow lootbag or an orange lootbag may become a purple lootbag and this is the only way to see the purple lootbag. Purple Lootbag: Can only drop during a blood moon night but can have the most rare stuff in them like solar banks/cells, weapons/augurs/chainsaws of mid or higher tier that already have mods in them, 4x4/gyrocopter parts, etc.īloodmoon: Zombies killed on a bloodmoon defense have a 5% chance to instead drop a higher tier lootbag. Orange lootbags can only drop from mid tier or higher enemies. Orange Lootbage: Drops 1/4th as often as the Yellow lootbag, has things of higher rarity than the yellow lootbag but can also drop higher quantities of stuff found in yellow lootbags. Can drop from all zombies, though weaker zombies are more likely to drop a brown lootbag. Tends to have useful and valuable stuff in it. Yellow Lootbag: Same as the one that's in game now. Not often enough to be spam, but often enough that zombies regularly drop lootbags.
